LT. MICHAEL MURPHY FOUNDATION AND FAMILY READINESS GROUP
Highlights of July include a multitude of activities from families enjoying the sunshine and relaxed times summer brings to all of us in the USA celebrating our Independence Day with fireworks, family gatherings, picnics, and more! With this celebration from many perspectives, the CTE Gives Back! Program is targeting its charity dollars to an organization also with multiple goals – the U Foundation. Located in Plainfield, IN, the Foundation supports the organizations of the Lt. Michael P. Murphy Memorial Scholarship Foundation and the Family Readiness Group.
Focusing first on the Lt. Michael P. Murphy Memorial Scholarship Foundation, this Foundation was started by his parents in 2007 in memory of their son who was one of three Navy Seals killed during combat operations in support of Operation Red Wing in 2005. Michael was an avid reader and embraced his favorite saying in his own life: “Education will set you free”. Initially awarding one scholarship annually, the Foundation now awards over 27 scholarships each year.
The Family Readiness Group, located in Indianapolis, supports men and women currently deployed as part of the Airborne Infantry Company. Not only does it send care packages and supplies to those overseas, but it also lends support to the same families at home during the spouse’s deployments.
It is with great pride and a sense of patriotism that we at Cable Tie Express share our charity dollars this month with The U Foundation. The dollars targeted to both the Lt. Michael Murphy Foundation and the Family Readiness Group.
